Hawkshaw Exhibit

This large scale piece was commissioned through the University of West Florida Archaeological Institute and The Gulf Power Company corporate headquarters in Pensacola, FL. At 25′ in length when side by side, this is my largest oil painting to date.

The 3 mile bridge from Gulf Breeze to Pensacola is used as a metaphorical timeline to showcase over 2000 years of artifacts that were collected during the excavation by The UWF Archaeological Institute. As scanned from right to left, the viewers attention is presented to a clearer vision across the bay of the most recent occupant on this piece of land while displaying fragments of it’s past.
